Our library is adequately stocked with relevant literature that touches on all the fields of counselling. 


The library has a stock of over 2800 copies, of which some are available for borrowing. The borrowing is only restricted to our students undertaking Diploma, Higher diploma, M.A. and Doctorate In Counselling Studies.

We have a wide range of counselling subjects such us :

For the visually impaired we have brail manuals.
 
The library is also stocked with over 800 relevant counseling and psychology journals. Users are allowed to photocopy an article only from the journals and handouts but not in any book.

Currently the library subscribes to the following journals

  • British journal of guidance and counseling
  • Journal of psychology in Africa
  • British journal of psychology
  • British journal of social psychology
  • British journal of medical psychology
  • British journal of developmental psychology.
  • Eisteach: A Quarterly Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy
  • Therapy today: the monthly professional journal for counselors and psychotherapists.
  • Counselling and Psychotherapy research journals
  • Journal of Social Aspects of HIV/AIDS.

 The library has a growing stock of CD-ROM's that cover the subjects of HIV/AIDS and condoms. Videotapes are stocked on aspects of counseling and can be viewed in our well-stocked video room. There are also audiotapes on counseling that can be listened to. The library has also good stock of videos and CD'S on International world AIDS Conferences  and other relevant literature.

MEMBERSHIP

  • When one enrolls as a student at KAPC, he/she becomes a member automatically.
  • One can Register as a KAPC member with Ksh. 2,000 for new registration and will have to pay yearly renewal of Ksh 1,000 per year. As a registered Member you can only use the books available.

LIBRARY OPENING HOURS
  • Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Saturdays 9:00am to 1:00 pm

The library remains closed on all Sundays and public holidays.
